Within the realm of pop music ROWANN ventures the edges of the genre. It’s not only their songwriting, but also the use of unusual instrument combinations and effects that distinguishes their unique sound. ‘The harp often gets drowned in effects, right to the point where it doesn’t really resembles a harp anymore’, Robert explains.

Robert and Sophie work on music from their studio situated in a spare room in their home back in the Netherlands where they produce all their music from start to finish. ‘Yes, it’s a challenge being a couple in music and in life, especially as an independent artist’, Sophie recalls. ‘But sharing this creative journey together has given us so much joy and passion, which really is something special.’

Ranging from intimate songs based around Sophie’s enchanting voice, to more electronic sounds and immersive soundscapes with cinematic qualities, it’s all in there, but still their signature remains authentic and profound.
